Overview:
The successful candidate will complement the company’s contingent of staff and contract Project Managers in IT Programs & Projects Delivery (PMO). The contract PM’s primary assignment is to lead Cybersecurity project(s), aimed at increasing IT cyber security across the enterprise. The Company is transforming to support further innovation and growth, concerned about the speed and frequency of cyberattacks and their effects on operational capabilities. As part of digital transformation, The Company wants to modernize its approach to cybersecurity. External partners have worked with The Company to develop a cybersecurity strategy to better protect its business and update the cybersecurity architecture. Solid experience with project management of large and complex projects, along with IT infrastructure and security-related projects, is essential, as is the ability to manage a large team, provide strategic direction, and prepare solid business cases. The contract PM may also be assigned to other full life-cycle projects as required by the Business Technology Services (BTS) Project Management Office.

What you will be doing:
The successful candidate is expected to closely adhere to The Company BTS’s Project Management methodology. Duties will include all aspects of the Project Management Lifecycle, including project initiation and planning, executing, monitoring and control, and closing. The candidate will perform all project management functions, including but not limited to the following:

  • Develop or oversee the creation of Business Cases and supporting artifacts ensuring alignment with Program Strategic goals.
  • Review and approve all project planning documents created by the project managers utilizing BTS’ comprehensive project management methodology.
  • Oversee the execution of all aspects of the plan, including WBS, financials, procurements, communications, quality, risks, decisions, etc.
  • Direct the activities of internal and external resources, including Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Project Coordinators, etc.
  • Work closely with Project Manager counterparts from vendors and system integrators.
  • Support the team culture, promoting a collaborative and healthy team environment.
  • Develop and manage or support existing program and project governance structures.
  • Prepare and communicate detailed monthly and ad hoc reports to stakeholders.
  • Scope Management: establish and maintain clear project boundaries and agreement on project scope.
  • Schedule Management: monitor projects’ schedule and ensure adherence to key milestones.
  • Risk Management: ensure proper record and tracking of project and program-level risks and issues.
  • Team leadership: manage a diverse team of technical experts and senior leaders.
  • Budget and Contract Management: manage the project budget.
  • Technical management: oversee the work of a technical team throughout the project life cycle.
  • Strong adherence to The Company’s BTS Project Management Methodology.

What you must have:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of project management experience delivering complex IT projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Information Security/Cyber Security experience.
  • IT infrastructure experience is strongly desirable.
  • Team management experience (6+ direct reports) is strongly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Computer Science.
  • 8+ years of full cycle technology project management experience.
  • Must have managed projects with budgets in excess of $2M and teams of more than 10 people.
  • Extensive and proven experience managing stakeholders.
  • Must have excellent people and communication skills.
  • Must display a sense of urgency to get the job done.
  • Solid experience with the management of risk, change, issues, time, scope, resources, budget, and quality.
  • Experience managing complex contracts.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is a plus.
  • Training and experience in best practice project management techniques.
  • Extensive and proven experience facilitating and managing consultation processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Experience developing and implementing technology projects.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing functional and technical requirements.
