Alberta, Canada Humans of HR Full time

Indigenous and Stakeholder Relations Advisor About the Role: We’re supporting a client in hiring an Indigenous and Stakeholder Relations Advisor — a trusted connector who can bridge communities, culture, and corporate collaboration. This is a role for someone who believes that authentic relationships drive real progress. Someone who can hold space for different perspectives, build trust over time, and help an organization move forward in a way that’s both respectful and sustainable. If you’re at your best when you’re out in the field, meeting people where they are, and turning shared conversations into lasting partnerships — this might be your next step. What You’ll Do: This role is all about connection — listening, learning, and leading with respect. You’ll: Build and strengthen partnerships with Indigenous Nations, organizations, and community leaders across Western Canada. Create pathways for collaboration — whether through employment, training, community projects, or business partnerships. Provide strategic advice internally on respectful engagement, inclusion, and relationship development. Bring insight and awareness to how Indigenous perspectives can inform company initiatives and decision-making. Represent the organization at meetings, gatherings, and events that deepen mutual understanding and partnership. Travel regularly (approximately 30–40%) to connect face-to-face with communities and colleagues. This is a role for someone who loves people, thrives in variety, and finds purpose in meaningful, long-term impact. Who You Are: You’re someone who builds relationships that last — not just because it’s your job, but because it’s who you are. You might describe yourself as: A natural connector and listener , grounded in empathy and curiosity. A strategic thinker who understands how community priorities and business goals can align. A trusted partner who can navigate complexity with integrity and care. Your background likely includes: 5+ years of experience in Indigenous relations, stakeholder engagement, or community partnerships. Deep knowledge of Indigenous governance, rights, and protocols in Western Canada. Experience facilitating discussions or developing agreements that reflect shared interests. Strong communication, diplomacy, and cultural competency skills. Lived Indigenous experience or a strong connection to Indigenous communities is considered a major asset.
