Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking a
Coordinator, Indigenous Relations
to work out of our Wabasca Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support for local communities. This role also represents Alberta-Pacific at designated community events as well as other community engagement initiatives.
This role requires occasional travel to other communities and Al-Pac's mill site offices.

Role Responsibilities
- Establish, engage and collaborate with various rural, First Nations and Métis communities.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of Indigenous communities within and around the Al-Pac Forest Management Area.
- Engage with local communities and ensure the needs of Indigenous communities are well understood within Al-Pac.
- Collaborate with other business areas to ensure alignment to organization priorities and provide regular updates to the Indigenous Relations team.
- Support the coordination and facilitation of meetings, internally and externally, develop meeting agendas and take/prepare meeting minutes.
- Plan and coordinate community and company events.
- Ensure documentation requirements are met.
- Implement KPIs and communicate status updates and reporting to the leadership team.
- Collect, document and track requests from Indigenous communities.
- Support preparation of documents using a variety of computer applications and tools, research, gather and summarize information and data, and develop reports, briefings, presentations and information packages
Role Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of First Nation(s) and Metis communities
- Knowledge of Forestry Operations considered an asset
- Knowledge of Cree language considered an asset

- Understanding of stakeholder engagement best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication, rapport and relationship building and maintaining connections.
- Ability to write, present and communicate in a professional, clear, persuasive and organized manner for diverse audiences.
- Ability to engage with stakeholders and the public with professionalism, tact, discretion, good judgement and trust.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage private, sensitive, and confidential information appropriately.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage activities efficiently to meet business objectives
- Strong facilitation skills.
- Comfort with travelling for work.
