The opportunity
The Forecast Lending Specialist is responsible for loan monitoring, margining, and servicing Canadian Western Bank's loan portfolio. Work with the Manager, Loan Monitoring to drive a high level of quality and standards, risk management, and strong data integrity.
What you’ll be doing
- Support and foster continuous improvement measures for all Credit Support processes specific to loan administration, maintenance, and funding.
- Support various areas of responsibility such as:
- Standardization of margin cards
- Ongoing monitoring and testing of loan covenants and loan margining requirements
- Generation of Early Warning Signals (EWS) and financial covenant reports
- Ongoing borrowing base analysis, portfolio reporting, and monitoring data for defined fraud indicators
- Continuous operational improvements are made at Business-As-Usual (BAU)
- Authorize the funding for loans, draws, fees, and payout statements.
- Establish a reciprocal and client-centric relationship with the credit support department and branch network while balancing the efficiencies and governance of a standardized structure.
- Correspond with branches both verbally and in writing regarding centralized loan processing and branch inquiries.
- Ensure smooth daily operations and maintenance of consistent centralized service workflow.
- Ensure standardized loan administration processes are followed, and data integrity is consistently achieved, monitored, and maintained.
Who we’re looking for & what you’ve done
Core Knowledge
- Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years commercial credit experience.
- Ability to read and analyze financial statements and documents.
Personal Competencies
- Solid knowledge of risk assessment, business banking, and credit processes including financial and cash flow analysis.
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced high volume environment.
- Knowledge of commercial lending, loan administration, and credit processes.
- Experience in loan administration, collateral securities, credit processes, and complex commercial loans.
- Comprehension of commercial lending policies, procedures, regulations, documentation, compliance issues, collateral securities, and audit requirements.
- Solid understanding of the Banking System, Loan Origination Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Forms.
- Lifelong learner. The ongoing, voluntary, and self-motivated pursuit of knowledge. You seek out challenges, opportunities, feedback, and are comfortable failing & failing forward, growing stronger with every experience to build successful momentum.
