What you'll be doing

As a member of the Personal Banking Sales and Strategy Team, the Director of strategy and Ecosystem Planning is a seasoned professional responsible for leading the effort to formulate approaches and direction for the management and delivery of strategy programming, business planning, and business processes related to the Personal Banking Ecosystem (e.g., all roles, operating models, and capacity within our Banking Centres). The Director, Strategy and Ecosystem Planning provides leadership to achieve outcomes which optimize salesforce productivity and channel utilization, which drive revenue growth / realize cost efficiencies for the business. The role applies leadership skills and technical expertise to research industry-wide service delivery best practices and seek to implement them where appropriate. The successful candidate is required to exercise a high degree of independent judgement to develop and implement effective tracking and measurement models for assessing business performance and will be responsible for driving innovation across areas of responsibility.

How you'll succeed

• Lead Strategic Initiatives - Lead and execute on key strategic initiatives related to the Personal Banking Ecosystem, delivering on the Personal Banking goals across the retail business. Ownership of competitive overview in support of key projects and strategic initiatives, and benchmarking value in the Canadian Market, and identify emerging cross-industry trends world-wide. Lead or support a variety internal initiatives, often of a highly sensitive and confidential nature, keeping Senior Leadership abreast of relevant information and progress.
• Strong Business Acumen: Monitoring business and salesforce performance and put action plans in place to close any gaps. Determine the best approach to operationalizing complex concepts within Personal Banking’s business activities and culture and provide authoritative recommendations based on forecasts of the alternatives and associated risks.
• Partner Engagement – Engage cross-functionally within the Personal Bank in order to accomplish business, financial, and strategic objectives. Support our frontline sales leadership by translating strategies to actions.
• Business Planning - Conduct ongoing P&L reviews to understand expense line items and underlying cost drivers. Assess cost areas against business plans and ongoing continuous improvements; create linkages between efficiencies driven by the business and implied reductions in infrastructure and direct operating costs.
• Client Experience Mentality - Recommending programs that contribute to creating an overall positive client experience and improved client engagement.

You have an undergraduate degree with a major/specialization in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering. MBA or advanced degree is an asset.
