On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager with a strong background in the public sector to lead the development and management of our innovative products. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of government processes, regulations, and challenges, along with a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions. As a Senior Product Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to define product vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring that our products meet the needs of public sector clients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and communicate a clear product vision, strategy, and roadmap for product and service improvement.
  2. Identify opportunities for product enhancement by leveraging digital platforms, technology trends, and market insights.
  3. Work within a broader team on concurrent path analysis projects to gather insights and identify user and service owner needs.
  4. Act as a liaison between cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on product objectives, including risk assessment and risk management goals.
  5. Manage partner expectations and foster a collaborative environment for engaging users and stakeholders.
  6. Assist in exploring the goals of the service to uncover current priorities and assumptions.
  7. Understand the digital capacity of the service through the lenses of People, Processes, and Technology.
  8. Summarize findings and identify recommendations for the service’s path forward.
  9. Prioritize risks and issues in a structured and transparent manner, identifying vulnerabilities and potential areas of improvement.
  10. Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate risk-related requirements into actionable product features.
  11. Evaluate performance and conduct regular reviews to assess product effectiveness.
  12. Provide weekly project and budget updates, responding promptly to government questions and requests for information.
  13. Develop and submit a final work plan for approval within 5 business days of the kick-off meeting.
  14. Develop a current state analysis of the identified service, clearly defining opportunities for improvements.
  15. Recommend potential technology solutions or improvement strategies and create a roadmap for solution implementation.
  16. Ensure all deliverables are submitted in electronic format and presented to the project lead for review, approval, and acceptance.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience as a Senior Product Manager with a track record of leading multi-disciplinary product teams, developing a product vision and strategy, and achieving that vision from concept to launch using human-centered and agile techniques.
  3. Experience in Solutions Architecture, Software Development, or related fields is considered an asset.
  4. Experience in managing complex projects and associated dependencies and risks to ensure projects remain on schedule and budget.
  5. Experience in change management and risk management principles and processes.
  6. Experience working in a public sector environment is considered an asset.
  7. Strong understanding of risk assessment and risk management practices.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to identify and address potential risks.
  9. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience in stakeholder management and client engagement.
  10. Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating risk-related requirements into product features.
  11. Ability to work remotely, utilizing own business email and telephone.
  12. Availability to attend virtual meetings as required.
  13. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding project information.
