Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Accounting Technician at Pa-Co Lighting Inc. in Laval, QC. The Accounting Technician will be responsible for tasks related to financial statements, bookkeeping, accounting software, and utilizing analytical skills in financial processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for Accounts Payables

o Ensure 3 way matching, ensuring all internal controls are followed and in place

o Charging expenses to accounts by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries.

o Ensure supplier terms are in place and accurate;
suggest payment runs based on AP aging

o Paying vendors by verifying tax id numbers, scheduling & preparing payments, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.

· Responsible for Banks, prepayments, accruals and capex reconciliations

· Verify and process monthly credit card statements and employee expenses.

· Sales tax monthly filing and reconciliation

· Prepare Payroll JE

· Prepare Commission reports and make sure agents files are up to date.

· Assist accounting department in month end activities

· Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

· Previous experience in similar role (2+ years).

· Professional working proficiency in both English and French (spoken and written).

· Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

· Experience with tracking expenses and analysis of information.

· Accounting experience and knowledge of taxes.

· High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.

· Ability to adapt quickly to deadlines in accordance with vendor requirements.

· Adaptability to deal with changing vendor requirements and requests.

· Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize based on department and vendor demand.
