Our client, an established public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Specialist in Cyber Analytics to join their team.


The ideal candidate will be a seasoned cyber security professional with a strong background in data extraction, dashboard creation, and data storytelling. You will play a crucial role in providing stakeholders with a comprehensive view of key metrics related to their cyber services.


This is a permanent role with a base salary, benefits and one of the best pension plans in the country. Hybrid in Toronto


Key Responsibilities:

  • Extract and manipulate large datasets from various sources to support cyber security initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau, SQL, and Excel.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Create compelling data stories that clearly communicate findings and trends to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify key metrics and KPIs for cyber services.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security in all analytical processes.
  • Continuously improve data extraction, analysis, and visualization techniques to enhance decision-making.
  • Train and mentor junior team members on best practices in data analytics and visualization.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber security analytics or a related role.
  • Expertise in SQL and Excel for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Proficiency in Tableau for dashboard creation and data visualization.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present it in an understandable format.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tell a compelling data story.
  • Familiarity with various cyber security frameworks and standards.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and quality.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH.
  • Experience with other data visualization tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and its applications in cyber security analytics.
