KD Water Facility Engineer acts as the key point of contact for the delivery of facilities engineering services associated with system, water supply throughout the full project lifecycle in the Kaybob Duvernay field. The role reports to the PPT Manager within the KD Asset Development Team and is accountable for planning, execution, optimization, sourcing strategies, regulatory aspects and re-use activities with the water scope. Also as part of the factory team the Water Engineer acts as a key coordinator with stakeholders to ensure improvements are implemented while still meeting the immediate factory deliverables associated with water management.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate overall water supply planning & execution; manage water balance over short and long term,
  • AFE & cost management for all execution activities,
  • Competitive Performance idea generation to drive down cost and up efficiency,
  • Responsible for development and maintenance of overall water supply strategy aligned with CVX’s water policy,
  • Evaluate & recommend water sourcing and permanent infrastructure design,
  • Ensure regulatory compliance for water usage & tracking and Produced Water use,
  • Produced Water reuse strategy: implementation, and detailed coordination with completions team,
  • Active participation in development area reviews and optimization, RFP activities, scrum teams.

Selection Criteria 1

Project Management and Technical Skills (Critical): Proven ability to efficiently manage/work through all phases of a project’s lifecycle. Demonstrated capability to effectively evaluate and articulate trade-offs with cost, schedule, reliability, and operability. Stakeholder management is a critical component of the job since the water engineer works closely with many cross functional factory team members from wells, facilities, operations, project controllers and development teams. Competency in facilities engineering and development planning, including cost and schedule estimation, application of playbooks and standard designs, and fluency in project-program economic evaluation. Technical depth in one or more of the following - hydraulic modeling, process simulation, onshore unconventional development, IPSO. Experience with Kaybob Duvernay and understanding of application of TC&S, QMP, FEIM and PMOC is highly desired.

This will require the capacity to assess key stakeholder feedback and build alignment on trade-off analyses associated with well/completion design, development, and sequence prioritization decisions.
