Team or Function Overview

The Retail Sales Representative is responsible for supporting our sales and marketing efforts at large national retail locations.

Summary

This role will facilitate the sale and flow of GAF products through big box home improvement retail accounts and will educate and promote the growth of the roofing category.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Train individuals or small groups with emphasis on general product knowledge, application techniques, and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with the Retail Sales Service Manager, GAF Territory Sales Managers, big box home improvement retail management/pro desk/merchandising teams, and store associates
  • Implement GAF product and set integrity in stores, provide feedback on market conditions, insure proper inventory levels, maintenance of retail product categories, and provide training to retail associates
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Under This Roof, We Require

  • 1 years experience in a sales, branch manager, or customer service-focused role (building materials industry a plus)
  • The ability to have and maintain a driver’s license

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1 to 2 years experience in a sales, branch manager, or customer service-focused role (building materials industry a plus)
  • Combination of retail sales & customer service along with an interest in becoming a Territory Sales Manager desired
  • Highly motivated and have a strong desire for advancement in a roofing sales capacity
  • Intermediate proficiency using Google Suite
  • Intermediate understanding of commercial roofing and/or coatings products

Physical Demands

Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and travel without assistance routinely

· Ability to position self to bend, pull, and reach overhead and/or below shoulder level to perform filling functions, lifting, carrying, and moving of up to 50 lbs of products/materials occasionally

· Frequent driving, moving about, sitting, walking, and standing; occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling

· Ability to wear and work in PPE occasionally

Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps occasionally
