Job Overview:
We’re seeking a Junior Training and Development Facilitator passionate about fostering learning and growth within the Learning and Development team, with a focus on supporting new to the industry Independent Travel Advisors. This role is ideal for someone with travel experience who is a natural communicator, coach, and problem-solver, eager to grow into a seasoned facilitator. Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, the Facilitator will play a critical role in ensuring continuous learning and professional growth for Independent Travel Advisors (ITAs), helping them build the skills and confidence to excel in their roles. The Facilitator will deliver training to ITAs of diverse backgrounds and experience levels while contributing to the design of learning materials, evaluation tools, improvement initiatives, and other developmental projects as needed.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Successfully offer guidance and mentoring within a diverse, multicultural environment to ITAs that work remotely
- Facilitate the development of participants with minimal travel industry background to enhance cross-cultural communication and collaboration.
- Proven track record in successful team leadership and training, particularly in remote settings is essential
- Fostering a positive and inclusive work culture among professionals embarking on a new career path
- Carrying out assessments of training sessions and evaluate partner performance to guarantee that the training provided in each cohort aligns with the established standards of the program
- Provides support with the creation of learning resources such as video tutorials, quick reference guides, knowledge check and other job aids
- Provide advanced support of the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Participate in the identification and development of new technology initiatives and provide ad hoc project management
- Provide support with coordinate pilot testing of new technology as required
- Analyze learner performance data to illustrate meaningful performance trends and identify best practices and areas for improvements
- Evaluate new and existing training materials and suggest any improvements or changes that may be required
- Partner with subject matter experts to support the creation of best practices and standard operating procedures for training and skill building activities
- Scope projects and evaluate existing documentation to identify the most appropriate change, learning and communication solutions
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of travel industry experience is required. Experience conducting training sessions, mentoring peers, or guiding others in their professional development is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Document Management Software, with the ability to troubleshoot and provide support.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and comfortable working with new technologies
- Knowledgeable in training and development best practices and adult learning principles or a willingness to learn.
- Experienced in using virtual meeting platforms such as Teams, Zoom, etc.
- TICO accredited
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be an independent self-starter with a proven ability to collaborate effectively in team environments
- Thrives in a KPI driven environment
- Ability to build trust and work through conflict
- Nice to have knowledge in LMS Administration
