Duration: 1 Year (Annual renewal)

Hourly Rate: $65 - 75/hour Inc.


Job Summary: Bruce Power is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Writer to join their team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in creating, maintaining, and improving technical documentation related to our nuclear power operations. This position requires a high level of expertise in technical writing, a deep understanding of nuclear power plant systems, and the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and accurately.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, edit, and maintain comprehensive technical documents, including manuals, procedures, guides, and reports.
  2. Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and other subject matter experts to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  3. Review and update existing documentation to reflect changes in technology, regulations, and company procedures.
  4. Ensure all documentation complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  5. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technical writers, promoting best practices in technical writing and documentation.
  6. Manage multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality documentation.
  7. Conduct thorough research and analysis to support documentation projects and stay current with industry trends and advancements.
  8. Utilize various tools and software to create and manage technical documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in technical writing, preferably within the nuclear or energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear power plant systems, operations, and safety procedures.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in technical writing tools and software, such as Adobe FrameMaker, Microsoft Office, and content management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to nuclear power documentation.
