Your role and responsibilities

As Head of Health, Safety and Environment, you will report to the Director of Operations and will be responsible for managing the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) department at the St-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Saint-Rémi plants, i.e., promoting, implementing and managing HSE programs, as well as acting as a change agent in the development and implementation of innovative ideas in the field. As a member of the management committee, you will be responsible for providing guidance and leadership to your peers, plant managers and internal customers, as well as acting as a catalyst to promote and maintain a strong HSE culture where collective success depends on everyone's commitment and involvement to minimize risks.
• Establish a clear vision and implement programs and action plans that will contribute to the continued implementation of a culture of excellence in HSE.
• Ensure the maintenance of performance indicators, the development and implementation of approaches and initiatives in order to increase performance at the HSE level.
• Analyze, track, and inform the management team of trends in accidents, incidents, inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
• In a coaching capacity, implement strategies to improve the safe behaviours to adopt and the skills and knowledge related to HSE orientations.
• Provide effective and definitive solutions to eliminate sources of danger, etc.
• Ensure the implementation, coordination, and improvement of the HSE processes.
• Support the implementation of the corporate HSE programs and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
This role is contributing to the Electrification, Installation Products division in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

Qualifications for the role

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in an industrial environment with concrete achievements.
  • Achievements in change management projects in large companies.
  • Mobilizing leadership and ability to connect with resources to achieve objectives and long-term vision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication.
  • Command of systematic problem-solving processes.
  • Good knowledge of Office Suite software.
  • Bilingualism: French is required. English is also required as this position will service internal and external clients from other provinces.
