The Opportunity

We seek an experienced Corporate & Business Development professional to join a small and close-knit corporate team in a rapidly growing organization. This is a senior role, and the successful candidate will be an integral member of the Company’s management team.

The successful candidate will bring 10+ years of experience spearheading commercial activities for both contracted and merchant solar and energy storage assets in the United States and/or Canada for an independent power producer, project developer, or standalone storage owner/operator.

Title: Vice President, Corporate & Business Development

Employment Type: Full Time

Job Location: Toronto, Ontario

This is an on-site, not a hybrid / remote position.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years of power origination experience with a North American renewable energy developer, IPP, or standalone storage owner/operator.
  2. A minimum of 500 MW of solar and energy storage projects originated within North America over the past five years.
  3. Demonstrable track record of successfully developing, implementing, and executing growth strategies with a particular focus on development of solar and energy storage projects.
  4. University degree in Engineering, Finance, or Business (MBA and/or CFA designation an asset).
  5. Strong commercial negotiation skills and business acumen.
  6. Ability to work in either Canada and/or the U.S.

Job Description:

  1. Develop, implement, and execute short- and medium-term business strategies to expand Nexus’ solar and energy storage footprint across the United States and Canada.
  2. Lead greenfield origination and M&A efforts through Financial Close.
