Job Summary

The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational management of our semiconductor fabrication facilities, specifically focusing on the production of micro-LEDs. This role is pivotal in ensuring that manufacturing processes are efficient, cost-effective, and in compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. The Director of Operations will lead a team within a cleanroom environment, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and contamination control to meet the precise requirements of micro-LED technology.

The TOOLS you need to do the job
  • Minimum 10 years experience in the manufacturing environment with 5+ years of operations experience working at a Management level in electronics manufacturing.
  • Profound understanding of semiconductor processing techniques, including photolithography, etching, chemical vapor deposition (CVD), physical vapor deposition (PVD), and metrology.
  • Expertise in cleanroom protocols and contamination control to maintain the integrity of the micro-LED fabrication process. Knowledge of ISO cleanroom standards and particle monitoring.
  • Ability to design, analyze and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency and yield improvement. Skills in statistical process control (SPC) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
  • At least 3 years experience in systems-level manufacturing.
  • Degree in Electrical/Computer or Mechanical Engineering In-depth knowledge of PC board manufacture.
  • Solid understanding of system test and firmware/software release methodologies and infrastructure.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while sustaining production.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence technical colleagues in order to drive continuous improvement and breakthrough changes to the status quo.
  • Ability to develop and manage subcontractor and vendor technical relationships.
YOUR TYPICAL DAY upon integration
  • Lead and oversee all aspects of cleanroom operations (including scheduling, preparation of scope of work, strict enforcement of policies, planning, and management of budget expenditures for capital, maintenance, repairs, etc.
  • Lead VueReal’s Chemical Safety Program. Conduct risk assessments; provide safety training, including but not limited to WHMIS, Hazardous Waste Disposal, and TDG (transportation of dangerous goods); conduct inspections & monitoring of chemical users.
  • Key decision maker for the quality of shipping products – develop quality standards for our products.
  • Experience in inventory control systems and strategies to minimize costs while ensuring material availability.
  • Decide on the readiness of new products to be released into manufacturing.
  • Manage procurement processes and coordinate material and resources allocation.
  • Experience in integrating and managing automation systems in manufacturing processes to increase productivity and reduce human error.
  • Proficiency in managing large-scale projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Familiarity with project management software and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in the maintenance and operation of high-tech semiconductor fabrication equipment. Understanding of preventative maintenance schedules and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Manage the New Product Introduction process to ensure the successful deployment of new products into manufacturing including developing production testing facilities, production training and support material, component and subassembly qualification, subcontract manufacturing qualification, yield analysis, product manufacturing release, and production ramp.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to support growth.
  • Manage the manufacturing engineering processes of various CMs (onshore and offshore.
  • Manage Supply Chain including Qualification of Vendors, maintain part master, subcontractor, and contract manufacturer relationships.
  • Developing innovative solutions for various challenges.
  • Participating in the improvement and development of our technologies.
