As an Associate Manager on the Product Team, you will be responsible for strengthening and growing your portfolio across Seasonal Bakery, Lunch, and Snacking. You will oversee day-to-day management of your product categories, inclusive of leading product strategy, portfolio management, and assortment planning.

As An Associate Manager, Product, You WillBusiness, Customer & Competitive Focus:
  1. Manage Your Categories P&L: Understand the levers to drive revenue and profit while building business cases for initiatives to contribute to business planning activities.
  2. Leverage Consumer Insights to Drive Growth: Understand key competitors and industry trends/innovation while utilizing customer data to identify opportunities for growth.
  3. Enable Portfolio Management & Forecasting: Lead the sales forecasting process and contribute to inventory plans; interfaces with cross-functional teams to refine, communicate & implement these plans.
Insights to Product Strategy
  1. Develop Insights & Reporting: Understand customer mindset, behavior, and drivers and how they differ across channels, markets, and competitors; embraces a variety of data sources to contribute to learning, reporting, and insights briefs.
  2. Build Product Strategy: Shape strategic direction of sub-portfolio and evaluates/recommends tactics within a given strategy to Adapt/ Adopt/ Create within a Promo.
  3. Brief XF Teams: Create and present a product brief with support; build product concepts in partnership with the Product Development team.
Project Leadership
  1. Champion Development & Commercialization: Lead the innovation/renovation process and cross-functional teams required to bring the platform/program to market from concept to launch.
  2. Manage Projects & Resources: Lead projects cross-functionally and effectively problem-solve/test new solutions.
  3. Collaborate/Influence Others: Understand key stakeholders’ priorities and provides feedback to guide project work with clear KPIs to a cross-functional team.
  4. Building Relationships: Builds strong relationships with US counterparts and key cross-functional partners to help bring partners along.

  1. Robust business background and financial acumen, able to develop business cases with strong customer-centric focus backed up by data.
  2. Working knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, assortment planning, and inventory management.
  3. Strong project leadership & management skills; organized, high attention to detail, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  4. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders.
  5. Naturally builds trust and respect amongst peer group; has experience working in a matrix environment and is a strong team player.
  6. Ability to solve complex problems and take new perspectives on existing solutions.
  7. Proven ability to respond to and prioritize changing demands effectively.
  8. Ability to navigate ambiguity.
  9. Occasional local travel required for offsite meetings/tasting sessions.
Summary Of Experience
  1. Progressive experience in product/category or brand management (2+ years) an asset.
  2. Passion and interest for Starbucks/Coffee/QSR industry.
  3. Experience working within a global organization and localizing for the Canadian market preferred.
Basic Qualifications
  1. 2 or more years of experience in a role supporting brand or category/product management or management consulting.
  2. 1 or more year(s) of experience in a professional role managing a P&L preferred.
  3. 1 or more years of experience in a role leading the development of new or existing products or strategies from conception to implementation preferred.
