Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Architectural Technologist to join our dynamic Saskatoon office. You will collaborate with engineers, technologists, and other professionals to translate design concepts into detailed technical drawings and plans. Your work will contribute to the successful completion of a variety of projects across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Interpret architectural drawings and specifications to create detailed construction drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details
  • Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to develop 3D models and coordinate with other disciplines
  • Conduct site visits to gather information, assess conditions, and ensure compliance with design standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with engineers, technologists, and project managers to address design challenges and optimize project outcomes
  • Prepare and review documentation for building permit applications, including zoning and code compliance
  • Stay updated on industry trends, building codes, and regulations to ensure designs meet current standards and best practices
  • Assist in the coordination of project schedules, budgets, and resources to meet project objectives
  • Participate in design reviews, meetings, and presentations to communicate technical information effectively

This position will be based out of the Saskatoon office, with occasional travel to our project sites throughout Saskatchewan.

Job Requirements

What you will bring to the table: 

  • A recent graduate of, or current student in, a diploma program for Architectural Technology, Engineering Design & Drafting Technology, or related field (This position will be a term, but may be available for extension depending on workload and availability of successful candidate
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software (e.g., Revit) 
  • Technical skills in architectural drafting, detailing, and construction documentation
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction practices
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality of work 
  • Experience in the engineering or architectural industry is an asset 
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Available to travel within Western Canada where necessary
