Our employer is an enterprise systems, and managed services solutions provider looking for an IT / Storage Specialist to support their Post Sale projects as well as Managed Services customers.
Job Function:

Skills:
  • Proven experience on fibre channel attached enterprise storage arrays (especially IBM)
  • Proven experience on SAN switching infrastructure (Cisco MDS and Brocade)
  • Proven experience on at least one of these backup products: TSM/Spectrum Protect, Rubrik, Cohesity, Veeam, Falconstor (desirable)
  • Possess fundamental data protection storage knowledge, including concepts like RAID, data
replication, backup and archive * Ability to troubleshoot enterprise IT infrastructure, including ticket creation and management with hardware manufacturers (especially IBM)
  • Possess fundamental data benchmarking/analysis knowledge, including understanding IOPS, MBs (throughput), read and write latency
  • Capable of provisioning storage from centralized arrays all the way up to the VM level
  • Familiarity with virtualization infrastructure, especially VMWare
After successful presale activities, your responsibilities will include:
  • Perform the implementation, administration, upgrade, infrastructure, and data migrations.
  • Creating zoning on both Cisco MDS and Brocade fibre channel switches (aliases, zones, zone configs)
  • Creating host definitions, LUNs, and LUN mappings on storage array (especially IBM Flash
system) * Creating datastores with presented LUN
  • Capable of creating accurate statements of work and estimated service effort based on
customer requirements * Maintain and troubleshoot data storage systems, and provide input for capacity planning

and/or recommend corrective action to resolve SAN Storage capacity issues

Other Responsibilities:
  • Post-sale technical support, conducting product training, issue identification and resolution, and ownership of incident, problem, and change management for assigned tasks
  • Demonstrate technical leadership through teaching, coaching, and supporting other team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment
  • Effective collaboration with customer cross-functional teams, technical and sales staff, project management and business stakeholders
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions within the team to ensure a comprehensive understanding of systems and processes
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of internal knowledge repositories
  • Actively contribute within the team and GHS through tangible contributions to process development, quality improvements, operational efficiency, and other business improvement projects
  • Achieve and maintain advanced certifications in the products and technologies assigned to you
Job Requirement:

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Implementation, Operations and Support of SAN, NAS, and other storage solutions
  • Working knowledge of IBM hardware, tape libraries, Virtual Tape Libraries (VTL)
  • Proficiency in performing installation and upgrades
  • Experience working with SAN switches: zoning, storage pools, volumes, and mappings.
  • Basic system security and networking concepts
  • Ability to create and maintain documentation
  • Manage time and effort to effectively deliver on commitments, tracking time where necessary to fulfill services reporting requirements
  • Industry-related courses and certifications such as VMware VCP, LPIC, RHCSA/RHCSE or similar qualifications, are considered a valuable asset
