Despite remarkable progress, the fight is not yet done; children with cystic fibrosis still have only a 50% chance of living beyond their 50s. The organization’s goal is to keep pushing, keep going further, until all people with cystic fibrosis can and do experience everything life has to offer—and enjoy everything life has to offer.THE ROLE AND IMPACT:The Coordinator, Engagement works closely with the Director, Engagement to support the engagement team. The position is integral to the development and delivery of exciting new programs that will support Canadians impacted by cystic fibrosis (including people living with CF and parents of infants diagnosed with CF) as they face the unique challenges of life with this rare genetic disease. As well, it provides key support in planning and executing community engagement initiatives, such as webinars, virtual events, emails, surveys, or consultation sessions, for members of the CF community.RESPONSIBILITIES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH: Work with the Director, Engagement to run a pilot program for peer support groups.Help to research existing community supports for parents with infants newly diagnosed with CF as part of the broader discovery process towards the goal of putting a plan in place to support this important community segment.Help set up virtual community meetings and consultation sessions, take notes and liaise with participants about meeting details.With support from Manager, Volunteer Engagement, recruit and liaise with volunteers as needed in an empathetic, person-centric, and professional manner.With support from the Director, Engagement, collaborate and communicate with colleagues and volunteers to meet the goals of the Stakeholder Engagement portfolio.Work with our marketing & communications team to create compelling and informative content, such as web content, event listings, emails, newsletter segments, social media posts and graphics etc., to promote engagement initiatives (e.g. events, consultation opportunities, new programs to support people impact by CF).Help build and share community surveys, using a tool like JotForm or SurveyMonkey, as we check in and seek community input on engagement initiatives.Provide support to the Director, Engagement, to plan and execute virtual public events, such as Townhall meetings, including setting up Zoom/Teams events, editing event run sheets, liaising with speakers or vendors.Support the Manager, Volunteer Engagement as needed to execute the community awards program, associated awards nominations processes and to coordinate with the review panel.Liaise with community members and colleagues as needed to provide timely response or resolution to requests for support or information.Use Raiser’s Edge NXT CRM daily to keep constituent records up to date and follow-up on any open actions.Use Excel, SharePoint and/or Asana to keep critical paths and other project management documents up to date as needed.Edit, tidy, format documents (incl. using Word, Adobe and PowerPoint) as needed.Update SharePoint to ensure needed materials are available to staff.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.WHAT YOU BRING:College or university degree or diploma in a relevant discipline.Prior work experience in a similar role with comparable responsibilities and requirements.Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.Exceptional interpersonal skills, high empathy, and proven ability to build and sustain positive working relationships.Proficient in creating content for websites and social media platforms.Highly organized with strong time management skills and attention to detail.Ability to set and adjust priorities, organizing work to meet the team’s needs.Eager to think creatively to solve problems and question the status quo.Experience working collaboratively with colleagues across different departments.Excellent customer service and effective communication practices, both internal and external.Personal experience with CF and/or a deep understanding of its impacts would provide valuable perspective in this role.Ability to handle confidential information with sound judgment and discretion.Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking French is an asset.Experience volunteering or working for a charity is advantageous.Flexibility to work occasional evenings.WHAT WE OFFER:Collaborative, dynamic, and passionate work environment, with colleagues who are driven and motivated for this community.A company culture rooted in empathy, accountability, collaboration, and innovation.Flexible working scheduleRemote and hybrid work model offeredPlease submit your resume and cover letter directly through LinkedIn Cystic Fibrosis Canada thanks all applicants in advance.
