About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineering Coordinator is responsible for program vendor activities including design, tooling and parts suppliers to ensure cost, delivery and quality targets are met according to customer requirements & Cosma/Presstran Standards and schedules. The Manufacturing Engineering Coordinator works closely with staff specialists, customers, and suppliers to lead and assess requirements for new and existing manufacturing processes within the plant. The coordinator establishes process requirements regarding machine, material and methods in the quoting stage, launch stage, as well as engineering changes and continuous improvement to new and current production. The Engineering Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the project from its inception, through PPAP, production, and service.

Your Responsibilities
Manages and leads all aspects of assigned programs from inception to completion including:

  1. Understanding the Red Flag Process and using it effectively and efficiently.
  2. Managing suppliers and balancing all requirements.
  3. Ability to balance requirements of the program triangle (budget, resources, objectives).
  4. An advanced knowledge of GD&T - understanding to help lead the CFT and customer discussions.
  5. Able to create & interpret Man & Machine Cycle Time Charts.
  6. Working Understanding of RSW.
  7. Understanding of Sealer/Adhesive dispensing systems with bead detection methods.
  8. Able to review product CAD and develop an assembly process.
  9. Advance knowledge of PFMEA development, & RPN reduction.
  10. Able to make improvements in dimensional capability through use of; CMM data interpretation, product understanding, tooling understanding, understanding of upstream inputs, perform tooling adjustments, direct tooling adjustments.
  11. Competent in use of problem solving tools; 3L5W, fishbone, is/is not, A3.
  12. Able to complete fast responses in time frame requirements effectively without repeat incidents.

Who we are looking for
Someone Who:

  1. Is knowledgeable and has experience with TPS or other Lean Manufacturing systems is preferred.
  2. Is able to use CAD software such as AutoCAD and Solidworks.
  3. Is knowledgeable in APQP, PDP, GD&T, PPAP, & PFMEA documentation and processes.
  4. Is able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  5. Has knowledge of and familiarity with Tooling Build Standards, Machine Build Standard and Check Fixture Standards.
  6. Has a record of building relationships with internal and external sources which are founded on trust, collaboration and cooperation.

Your preferred qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering with a min of 2 years of experience.
Must have strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.
Experience in Manufacturing Assembly.
Experience in processing equipment from inception to launch.
Experience with various welding processes (e.g. Mig, Spot, Projection, etc.).
