Manufacturing Project Engineer

Responsible for managing equipment installation, building modification, or improvement projects.

Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for technical projects including building renovations, new equipment purchases, and installations.
  2. Manage the change control process and qualification of its projects and ensure that qualification meets cGMPs.
  3. Establish and maintain contacts with customers (internal and external) to define requirements.
  4. Present technical information or concepts.
  5. Design and manage project plans.
  6. Responsible for adherence to project schedule and budget.
  7. Manage scope changes and scope creep.
  8. Conduct feasibility studies.
  9. Lead the purchasing process for these projects, including sourcing and negotiating with suppliers.
  10. Produce quantity surveys and prepare budget estimates and reports.
  11. Request and review tender documents, specifications, and other technical documents.
  12. Supervise and inspect the installation, modification, and commissioning of installations.
  13. Take charge of major technical problems in the plant and act as a resource person to help solve problems.
  14. Contribute ideas and solutions to improve efficiency and safety.
  15. Comply with company policies.
Required Skills and Experience:
  1. University degree in engineering.
  2. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  3. Good knowledge of automated systems.
  4. Good knowledge of mechanical systems.
  5. Knowledge of packaging and/or pharmaceutical equipment (an asset).
  6. Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma concepts (an asset).
  7. Excellent organization and time management skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  9. Strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  10. Bilingualism required: English and French.
  11. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
