We are looking for a reliable professional to join our client as a Payroll & Operations Associate at their office in Dartmouth, NS. This permanent, full-time role involves ensuring timely and accurate payroll and benefits processing, while also providing support to employees and management in a growth-focused environment. Key Responsibilities for the Job:
  1. Oversee payroll processing from start to finish, including data collection, calculations, and payments
  2. Handle employee setups, terminations, and updates
  3. Ensure compliance with payroll laws and manage required reporting
  4. Customize payroll systems based on client needs
  5. Resolve payroll discrepancies and generate reports
  6. Conduct payroll audits to ensure accuracy
  7. Stay updated on payroll trends and suggest improvements
  8. Support payroll-related issues in employee and manager systems
  9. Work with the finance team to align payroll changes and record entries
  10. Manage employee benefits administration, including system management and vendor communication
  11. Track vacation entitlements and ensure adherence to policies
  12. Assist with hiring processes and documentation
  13. Participate in assigned projects and additional duties as needed
Skills & Attributes for Success:
  1. Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience
  2. Experience with employee benefits administration and management
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  5. Problem-solving mindset with a strong sense of accountability
  6. Proficient in learning new software and technology
  7. Experience with payroll system Wagepoint is an asset
