Job Description

The Server Administrator plays a key role in the day-to-day running of the company's IT infrastructure. He/she is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and optimizing servers and systems to ensure optimum availability and performance. This role also involves solving technical problems, deploying new solutions and supporting end-users.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Linux/Windows), application software and security patches
  • VMware: Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere solutions, including ESXi hosts and vCenter Server
  • Microsoft 365: Manage and configure Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID, Exchange Online and other M365 security and compliance tools
  • Performance Management: Monitor and optimize system performance for maximum efficiency
  • Technical Support: Provide level 3 technical support to users, resolve complex system problems, and contribute to the knowledge base
  • Documentation: Maintain up-to-date technical documentation on system configuration, operating procedures, and incident logs
  • IT projects: Participate in the planning and deployment of IT projects, including server migrations, new application deployments and improvements to existing infrastructures

Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science, systems engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience as a system administrator, with good knowledge of Linux and/or Windows Server operating systems
  • Competence in managing virtualization technologies (VMware)
  • Experience in administering the Microsoft 365 platform
  • Ability to write scripts in Bash, PowerShell, or other languages to automate routine tasks
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Knowledge of basic IT security principles is essential
