Schedule: 12 days commencing July 2; 12hrs/day
Accommodations: Hotel is provided plus an additional $70.00 per day; Paid travel time 5 hours
Locations to be Supported: Sparwood, BC

Position Summary

We are seeking 1-2 Journeyperson Millwright to work in Sparwood, BC area. Millwrights scope of work will include material handling (bar screens, liwel screens, star screens, conveyors, etc.).

Other responsibilities include:
  • Reading blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Installing, aligning, dismantling, and moving stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
  • Operating hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery.
  • Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
  • Adjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts.
  • Operating machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Assembling machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.

  • Alberta Journeypersoncertified.
  • Minimum 5 years trade experience.
  • Shutdown experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience of industry related safe work practices.
  • Previous industrial & Shutdown experience considered an asset.
  • CSTS-09 & WHMIS 2015.
  • Able to work well in a team environment.
  • Organized and self-motivated.
