Job Overview
Reports to: General Foreman, Welding and Machine Shop
Shift: 7x7, 12-hour shifts
Location: British Columbia
Key Job Responsibilities
- Operate manual and CNC lathes, mills, and drill presses to manufacture precision parts.
- Develop and implement complex machining programs using conversational and G-Code controls.
- Utilize CAD/CAM software to design and optimize tool paths for efficient machining operations.
- Set up and operate field boring and milling equipment as required on customer sites.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments.
- Maintain and operate a variety of machine tools, including specialized and advanced equipment.
- Ensure a safe and organized work environment.
- Be willing to work overtime and adapt to rotating shifts.
- Collaborate with other machinists, millwrights, and apprentices in the field environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Possession of Journeyperson Machinist Trades Certification is preferred.
- Experience with G-Code programming and CAD/CAM software is essential.
- Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematical knowledge and precision instruments.
- Must have no restrictions for access to mine sites.
- Valid driver's license required.
