Manager, Product Engineering

This individual is responsible for leading plant readiness supporting New Product Introductions (NPI), Continuous Improvement (CI), documenting and developing product standardization/changes and major new program implementation.
Organizational Relationship
This position reports directly to the Director of Product Engineering.
Accountabilities
- Manages overall CI goal tracking/execution and develops CI opportunities working with direct reports and other key functional areas (Sourcing, Operations, etc.)
- Responsible for Product Management Team, Product Development Team, and Product Implementation Team processes
- Leadership of MBCI’s Product Engineering Services department technical outputs. These include product drawings, change management documentation, product launch schedules, and product engineering.
- Manage key product specification changes to ensure they are formally approved and documented accordingly
- Lead documentation standardization and repository of documentation
- Assist Operations in determining manufacturing processes including assembly methods, construction techniques, material cost estimates, labor estimates, tooling and equipment for new products, custom product requests and product changes.
- Identify, initiate, and execute value engineering projects through the product engineering network.
- Maintains effective project tracking, meeting minutes, and action items
- Manages, grow, and develop direct reports on the Product Engineering Team
- Develop and maintain team member cross training activities.
- Ability to travel both domestic and international; estimated travel for position is 20%
- Provide support to Quality, Operations and Customer Service for product related questions
- Help to establish organizational culture of continuous improvement, utilizing daily management, standard work, and A3 Thinking
- Develop meaningful KPI
- Consistently demonstrate theSuccess Model: Make the Team Better, Be Bold, and Champion Improvement
- Perform other duties as may be assigned at management’s discretion.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s level degree in Engineering or other related field required
- 5+ years relevant experience is strongly preferred
