Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Crude Oil Analyst on a permanent basis on our Supply & Distribution team.

This position is a hybrid opportunity and is based in Regina, SK. We are open to fully-remote work for applicants outside of the Regina area.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintain models using Excel to track Natural Gas and Crude Oil market pricing as it relates to refinery operations.
  • Track physical movements of liquids throughout the Enbridge System, which more senior team members use to develop models to better predict any potential apportionment that could impact the Co-op Refinery Complex or the market in general.
  • Provide assistance in maintaining Crude Oil and Natural Gas estimates that track purchases and sales on a monthly basis. In collaboration with more senior team members, provide weekly price estimates for the CRC Status report.
  • Confirm pricing with third parties monthly to ensure that invoices are paid as per contracts.
  • Track pricing, maintaining historical tracking model of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) and Crude Oil Differentials.
  • Maintain and aid in Supply and Demand model for Crude Oil from Western Canada to accurately predict Supply/Demand and how it impacts price and apportionment.
  • Maintain and update the CRC Crude Oil Delivery Schedule daily by performing detailed review and analysis of the Enbridge Swiftlink website information; revise injection and delivery dates and times of crude batches landing at the Complex; and communicate with CRC Pumper Operators as required to land crude deliveries in appropriate tanks.
  • Document all deals in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring that all third-party contracts and confirmations are signed, filed, and returned to third parties as required.

The Team: You will work closely with a Senior Crude Oil Scheduler, Physical Commodity Trader, and will report into the Manager – Crude Oil Supply and Trading Supply and Distribution. This team strives to cultivate a culture of strategic, results-oriented, and business savvy.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Supply Chain and:

  • Have anywhere from 1-3 years of logistics or analytics experience. Experience in Crude Oil, Natural Gas or the Energy Industry is preferred.
  • Have a University Degree, preferably in Business or Commerce (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Are familiar with Microsoft Office, with medium to advanced knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
