Job Description

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Continuous improvement of the heat & material balances of our processes
  2. Processes include: stone feed, process of calcining into lime, lime quality, all inputs to production, stone, fuels, additives, post-production packaging, etc.
  3. Ownership of the process and in charge of process improvement and optimization
  4. Root causes analysis on process issues
  5. Providing process support for troubleshooting, optimization, and planning to production, maintenance, and quality control
  6. Records any problems related to the process or system
  7. Initiates, recommends, provides, and/or implements solutions
  8. Involved in maintenance planning meetings, outage meetings, and continuous improvement meetings
  9. Hold at least one daily handoff meeting with operators and team leaders about the daily instructions, production expectations and any barriers they had during their shift
  10. Work with Engineering to design, implement plant modification from the startup and transitioning to the continuous monitoring and optimization phase
  11. Other duties as assigned by management
Required Skills

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in root Cause analysis and process engineering within maintenance, operations or plant engineering environments
  • Industry background in manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc., preferred
  • A 'take charge' person with a Positive & Proactive attitude with the ability to perform with minimal supervision
  • Able and willing to spend the majority of time in the plant with the operators
  • Technical aptitude & analytical skills
  • Detail & process oriented with strong problem resolution abilities
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
