Description du Poste

En tant qu'Artiste Technique, vous travaillerez en étroite collaboration avec les artistes et les programmeurs pour aider à optimiser les ressources et les pipelines. Vous participerez à la mise en œuvre de fonctionnalités artistiques techniques, développerez des outils et des flux de travail, et effectuerez des opérations de débogage sur les outils et les processus. Vous vous assurerez que les artistes peuvent produire des œuvres d'art de haute qualité tout en respectant les contraintes des plates-formes cibles du jeu.

Ce que vous ferez:

  • Agir en tant qu'intermédiaire entre les équipes artistiques et de programmation.
  • Soutenir les artistes 3D en établissant des pipelines efficaces et en développant des outils.
  • Répondre aux questions techniques liées à l'art et à l'optimisation du jeu.
  • Surveiller la mémoire et le taux de rafraîchissement.
  • Valider les ressources, optimiser les données, les flux de travail et les pipelines.
  • Garantir la livraison d'œuvres d'art de haute qualité et optimisées (environnements, personnages, effets visuels, etc.) en respectant les contraintes établies telles que les budgets mémoire et les objectifs de taux de rafraîchissement.
  • Utiliser les meilleurs outils et méthodes pour améliorer la charge graphique.
  • Rechercher la mise en œuvre de techniques de rendu avec les ingénieurs.
  • Résoudre les erreurs liées aux matériaux, aux collisions et divers problèmes dans l'éditeur de jeu.
  • Rédiger et maintenir la documentation technique.

Ce que vous apportez:

  • Une compréhension approfondie des pipelines de création d'actifs prêts pour les jeux AAA.
  • Maîtrise d'au moins un logiciel 3D (3Ds Max, Maya, Blender).
  • Connaissance des techniques d'optimisation et de profilage sur consoles/PC.
  • Expérience avec la texture PBR, l'éclairage et le rendu.
  • Expérience de travail avec des moteurs de jeu ; une expérience avec Unreal Engine 5 est un atout.
  • Expérience dans la création de shaders (dans Unreal, GLSL/HLSL).
  • Volonté d'explorer de nouveaux flux de travail et de travailler avec des technologies de nouvelle génération.
  • Capacité à travailler sous pression, à acquérir de nouvelles compétences et à développer de bonnes relations avec l'équipe.
  • Expérience de collaboration avec des équipes multidisciplinaires (artistes, concepteurs, programmeurs, directeurs techniques, etc.).
  • Solides compétences en communication et en relations interpersonnelles.
  • Fortes capacités organisationnelles.
  • Orienté solutions.
  • Les atouts: la connaissance du scripting/d'Unreal Blueprint, les outils procéduraux/Houdini, les pipelines d'effets visuels (VFX) et d'animation est un plus.
  • L'expérience de travail avec des studios de co-développement et des partenaires externes est considérée comme un atout ainsi que l'expérience dans le développement de jeux AAA.
  • Posséder une passion pour le jeu, l'art et la technologie.

Job Description

As a Technical Artist, you will work closely with artists and programmers to help with asset and pipeline optimizations. You will participate in the implementation of technical art features, develop tools and workflows, and will perform debugging on tools and processes. You will ensure artists can deliver top-quality art within constraints on the game’s target platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between the art and programming teams.
  • Support 3D artists by establishing efficient pipelines and developing tools.
  • Answer technical questions related to art and game optimization.
  • Monitor memory and framerate.
  • Validate assets, optimize data, workflows and pipelines.
  • Ensure the delivery of top-quality, optimized art (environments, characters, VFX, etc.) by working within established constraints such as memory budgets and framerate targets.
  • Use the best tools and methods to improve the graphic workload.
  • Research the implementation of rendering techniques with engineers.
  • Resolve material, collision and various errors in the game editor.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Deep understanding of game-ready asset creation pipelines for AAA games.
  • Proficiency with at least one 3D software (3Ds Max, Maya, Blender).
  • Knowledge of optimization techniques and profiling on consoles/PC.
  • Experience with PBR texturing, lighting and rendering.
  • Experience working with game engines; Unreal Engine 5 is a plus.
  • Experience creating shaders (in Unreal, GLSL/HLSL).
  • Eagerness to explore new workflows and work with next-gen technologies.
  • Able to work under pressure, learn new skills, and develop a good relationship with the team.
  • Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams (artists, designers, programmers, technical directors, etc.).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Solution-oriented mindset.
  • Scripting/Unreal blueprint knowledge is a plus, as is knowledge of procedural tools/Houdini or knowledge of VFX and animation pipelines.
  • Experience working with co-dev studios and outsourcing partners is considered an asset asExperience with AAA game development.
