Position Overview

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare Compilation Engagement Reports for owner-managed businesses.
  2. Prepare personal and corporate tax returns.
  3. Occasional bookkeeping including bank account reconciliation, accounts receivable and accounts payable, payroll calculations, WCB, GST reporting, preparation of T4’s, and other bookkeeping duties.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Task prioritization and organization – ability to manage multiple deadlines, determine priority, and get tasks completed.
  2. Self-starter – ability to identify areas of improvement and do the work.
  3. Strong client relations skills.
  4. Self-confidence/maturity.
  5. The ability to use Caseware, Simply Accounting, QuickBooks, Taxprep, Microsoft Office – Excel and Word, and quickly learn additional software programs is essential.

Education and Experience:

  1. Accounting Technician experience in a Canadian public accounting practice considered an asset.
  2. Bachelor's degree, Business College or Business Administration Diploma with Accounting major is preferred.
  3. Willing to train the right candidates.
