The Sales Manager is responsible for formulating robust sales strategies and developing an effective and dynamic sales team and structure on which to execute the plan for today's ever-changing marketplace. Overall responsibility for the collective sales budget and profitability of the Consumer, Direct Mail & Strategic Accounts sales group to meet planned objectives including: sales volume, margin management, market penetration, profitability, and selling costs. This position is responsible to ensure consistent, profitable growth in sales revenue through positive planning, direction and management of the sales team and through interaction with customers and prospects. ResponsibilitiesUnderstanding and assistance in carrying out the mandate and strategy of Central Canada Envelope and Label Working with the local sales team (Account Managers) to maintain territory revenue in envelope and grow opportunities in non-envelope categories (labels, eCommerce Packaging and Folding Carton) Defining measurable expectations of Account Managers and evaluating performance against expectationsIdentifies objectives, strategies, and action plans to improve short and long-term sales and earningsEstablishes and/or maintains contact with key accountsMonitors sales compensation and incentive programs to ensure alignment with goals and objectivesManages pricing strategy on all business for consistency and alignment with objectivesManages assigned mid-sized accountsPrepares annual sales budget and targetsWorks with Management team to coordinate Business Development & Product Development InitiativesQualificationsBachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field, or an appropriate combination of education and practical sales experience5+ years of direct work experience in a sales management capacity5+ years working experience in sales and/or marketing required, preferably in the envelope OR a related industryExcellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementing skillsExperienced in ‘people management’ with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills Solid technical knowledge, including understanding of printing, inserting, postal specs, graphic arts, etc. Would be an assetComputer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe products and e-mail required.
