OBJECTIF DU POSTE

En tant que chef, Liaison des sciences médicales, vous aurez la responsabilité de fournir un soutien médical non promotionnel afin d’assurer l’utilisation sécuritaire et efficace des produits de GSK, dans le cadre d’interactions scientifiques efficaces avec des intervenants externes clés (experts externes, professionnels de la santé, défenseurs et organisations). Vous devrez appuyer vos collègues du développement clinique en faisant intervenir les chercheurs qui réalisent des essais cliniques de GSK et fournir un soutien scientifique aux intervenants internes de GSK.  En tant que chef, Liaison des sciences médicales sur le territoire, vous fournirez de l’information clinique scientifique et appuierez nos intervenants externes conformément aux principes de GSK en matière d’engagement scientifique. Il s’agit d’un poste à orientation thérapeutique sur le terrain pour lequel des déplacements fréquents sont requis (jusqu’à 70 %).

PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITÉS :

Vous devrez…

  • Repérer les possibilités de relations scientifiques et établir et maintenir des relations scientifiques entre pairs avec des experts externes clés en présentant des données scientifiques équilibrées, en appuyant les possibilités d’éducation médicale avancée et en fournissant un soutien scientifique qui respecte les normes les plus élevées de l’industrie, conformément aux valeurs, politiques, normes, lois et règlements applicables de GSK.

  • Jouer le rôle d’expert scientifique sur le terrain dans le territoire et maintenir une compréhension et une connaissance approfondies des maladies, des vaccins, des traitements et de la concurrence afin d’assurer un excellent dialogue scientifique et l’application des connaissances cliniques.

  • Faire preuve d’agilité et de capacité d’adaptation pour interagir avec les intervenants internes et externes et leur offrir une valeur ajoutée dans l’ensemble du continuum (experts externes et autres professionnels de la santé dans le secteur géographique/thérapeutique assigné, chercheurs et chercheurs potentiels, sociétés professionnelles, groupes de défense des intérêts et décideurs en matière de santé publique) d’une manière non promotionnelle et en faisant preuve de réceptivité face aux demandes spontanées.

  • Servir d’interface principale entre la communauté médicale de votre territoire et les équipes internes de GSK afin de recueillir des informations pour documenter les stratégies commerciales présentes et futures.

  • Participer à des expositions médicales et à des séances scientifiques dans le cadre de congrès régionaux, nationaux et internationaux dans le domaine médical, à titre de soutien scientifique.

  • Fournir une formation scientifique aux représentants de GSK concernant les produits de GSK et les maladies qu’ils traitent en utilisant le matériel approuvé pour la formation du personnel de vente.

  • Travailler de façon transparente avec les équipes de développement clinique pour déterminer quels centres pourraient accueillir des essais cliniques, appuyer les activités de développement clinique au Canada et fournir un soutien scientifique aux intervenants internes de GSK, au besoin.

COMPÉTENCES DE BASE

  • COMPÉTENCES REQUISES : Diplôme d’études supérieures avancées (diplôme en médecine, doctorat, diplôme en pharmacie) dans le domaine scientifique, obligatoire.

  • Aptitude exceptionnelle à appliquer et à exploiter les données scientifiques et médicales tout en établissant une crédibilité scientifique et en permettant la discussion et le débat entre pairs, essentielle.

  • Excellentes capacités d’expression en public et de présentation scientifique.

  • Connaissance des processus de remboursement au Canada.

COMPÉTENCES PRIVILÉGIÉES

  • Le bilinguisme français et anglais est obligatoire.

  • Une expérience de 3 à 5 ans ou plus dans un poste en affaires médicales (de préférence dans un territoire) avec des relations/réseaux établis dans les domaines thérapeutiques de la cardiologie, de l'endocrinologie et de la néphrologie est fortement préférée.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB PURPOSE:

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) you will be responsible for applying your non-promotional medical acumen to ensure the safe and effective use of GSK’s products, through impactful scientific interactions and support of key external and internal stakeholders in alignment to the therapeutic area Medical Plan.  As the MSL within the territory you will collaborate with field partners in a stakeholder-centric approach to provide credible scientific clinical information about our vaccines to healthcare professionals, external experts, organizations and decision-makers in a manner consistent with GSK’s principles for scientific engagement. This role is a therapeutically aligned, field-based position where frequent travel within Quebec is required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be expected to:

  • Identify, establish, and maintain scientific peer-to-peer relationships with key external experts by presenting balanced scientific data, supporting advanced medical educational opportunities, and providing scientific support with the highest of industry standards following GSK values, policies, standards, applicable laws, and regulations. 

  • Be recognized as the scientific field-based partner in the territory and maintain a deep understanding and knowledge of diseases, vaccines, treatments, and the competitive landscape to ensure excellent scientific dialogue and clinical knowledge translation aligned to business strategy.

  • Be agile and adaptable to engage and provide value across a continuum of both internal and external stakeholders (i.e., external experts and other healthcare professionals, investigators, professional societies, organizations, advocacy groups, and decision-makers) in a non-promotional manner and be responsive to unsolicited inquires.

  • Be a proactive and solutions-oriented partner as the primary interface between the healthcare community and the internal cross-functional GSK teams to gather and share back insights that inform current and future business strategies. 

  • Represents GSK at scientific congresses by leading external expert engagement plans, providing session/abstract coverage, booth staffing coverage, and contributing to scientific end of congress summaries/share-backs as required.   

  • Provide scientific training for GSK commercial colleagues regarding GSK products and the conditions they treat utilizing approved sales training materials.

  • Assist the medical, clinical and HEOR teams with evidence generation projects as needed, and support identification of potential clinical trial sites for clinical development activities in Canada as required. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • REQUIRED:

    • Bilingualism in French and English scientific/medical discussion (fluent written and verbal communication)

    • An advanced post-graduate scientific degree (MD, Ph.D., PharmD)

    • Successful candidates must reside within Quebec

  • Exceptional aptitude to apply, leverage and present scientific data with credibility and purpose while enabling peer-to-peer discussion is essential. 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on cross-functional teamwork and strategic execution of medical affairs plan in alignment to overarching business strategy within your territory. 

  • Knowledge of regulations governing medical information exchange with healthcare professionals within the Canadian pharmaceutical environment. 

  • Sound negotiation, territory and team leadership, and organization skills. 

  • Familiarity with reimbursement processes in Canada

  • A valid driver's license is required for this field-based position. 

  • Ability to travel throughout the territory up to 70% with evenings and weekends involved

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5+ years previous experience in a medical affairs position (preferably field-based) with established relationships/networks in cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology therapeutic areas is strongly preferred
