Job Summary:

As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of employees, contractors, and residents across our client's residential development projects in Dublin. You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective health and safety strategies, policies, and procedures to maintain compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards. You will collaborate closely with project teams to identify and mitigate potential risks, promote a strong safety culture, and drive continuous improvement in health and safety practices.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
  2. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend appropriate control measures.
  3. Advise project teams on health and safety requirements and provide guidance in the planning and execution of construction activities.
  4. Promote a strong safety culture among employees, contractors, and stakeholders by delivering training, inductions, and toolbox talks on health and safety topics.
  5. Investigate incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive measures to minimize the risk of recurrence.
  6. Collaborate with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and contractors, to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  7. Monitor and evaluate health and safety performance through the collection and analysis of relevant data, and prepare reports for management.
  8. Stay up to date with the latest developments in health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry practices, and proactively apply this knowledge to enhance organizational safety performance.
Requirements:
  1. A minimum of a Level 8 degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a similar relevant field.
  2. Proven experience working as a Health and Safety Advisor within the construction or residential development industry.
  3. In-depth knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
  4. Strong understanding of construction processes and associated hazards.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  6. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  8. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH would be advantageous.
  9. A valid driving license is preferred.
