About the Role

Hitachi Rail STS Canada, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and the public. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining a safe working environment and promoting a culture of safety within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive health and safety management system that meets regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard identification to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • 2-5 years of experience in health and safety, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as occupational health and safety or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience in rail construction or a similar industry.
  • Lead ISO 45001 Auditor Certification.
  • Experience with human and organizational performance management techniques.
