The main responsibility of the **Health and Safety Advisor** is to provide the necessary resources and support required to enable field personnel to meet all Clearway, Client and legislative requirements relating to Health and Safety in the workplace.

**Responsibilities**:

- Carry out workplace inspections, hazard analysis, safety audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, identify gaps and opportunity for improvement
- Report to the Senior Management, implement corrective actions and make recommendations
- Assist the field management with emergency preparedness and with emergency response planning and readiness
- Assist the field management with incident/accident reporting and investigations;
- Assist with developing and implementing policies, practices and procedures;
- Assist with developing job hazard analysis and project safety plans;
- Assist Ministry of Labour inspectors;
- Organize and facilitate training sessions for employees using both internal and third party resources
- Draft reports for consideration by senior management regarding Health and Safety matters;
- Attend and co-chair JH&S Committee Meetings and prepare agendas, minutes recommendations. Coordinate follow-up activities;
- Monitor subcontractor’s safety performance
- Assist with H&S accreditation and performance audits (e.g. COR);
- Assist with Return-To-Work plans;
- Complete additional assignments and responsibilities as requested by Health and Safety Manager or Senior Management;

**Requirements**:

- NCSO Designation (preferred)
- Diploma/Certificate that is Health and Safety related (preferred)
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar role within the Utilities or Heavy Civil Construction field
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- A strong passion for fostering a safe work environment
- Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals.
- Strong PC skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Able to work under pressure with time constraints
- Drivers Licence is required
