Position Purpose:

Provides management consulting, market research expertise and solution development for clients in the animal health industry.  Leads projects addressing marketing science and business questions that help client organizations successfully commercialize products and services. Project types include: market/landscape assessment, pricing studies, concept testing, positioning, brand forecasts, promotion response, and strategy.

This position requires high quality project and client management, market research, analytical skills in a fast-paced services environment. Experience and knowledge of the animal health industry, market research techniques (both qualitative and quantitative) are a must.  This position requires consulting/agency and/or animal health experience and an advanced degree in Marketing, Marketing Research or Statistics.

Principal Accountabilities:

This position includes the following key responsibilities – managing projects that utilize primary market research to develop insights and strategic recommendations; developing primary market research surveys; conducting quantitative market research studies and qualitative research with veterinarians, pet owners etc.; analyzing primary market research data; conducting opportunity assessments and forecasts; business analytics; PowerPoint report development.

Expertise to guide the selection of appropriate market research methodologies (both qualitative and quantitative) for a wide variety of business questions. Manages client engagements with oversight from VP/Principal. Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify client issues and to develop client-specific solutions. Designs and structures PPT presentations that are appropriate to the characteristics or needs of the audience.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Specialized Knowledge Required:

Advanced degree with minimum 5 years of related experience in a consulting firm or agency working in the animal health industry and/or animal health manufacturer experience. Candidates with experience only in the pharmaceutical industry will also be considered (market research) (MBA preferred).

  • Expertise in developing and executing qualitative and quantitative market research studies 
  • Integrate the results of primary market research studies along with secondary data and other information to summarize key insights and make recommendations to the client on potential strategy and tactics
  • Experience conducting market research studies in animal health 
  • Knowledge of Sawtooth (or similar software) 
  • Strong understanding of animal health 
  • Project management experience in consulting firm or agency
  • Strong and confident verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong PowerPoint presentation skills
  • Analytical, quantitative and conceptual skills 
  • Self-motivation and initiative to work independently in an ambiguous environment, as well as part of a team 
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines while still delivering a flawless product

Additional Requirements:
Works willingly and effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals. Is able to effectively manage junior staff on projects. Knowledge of market research techniques, consulting methods, tools and techniques, related to one’s functional area. Knowledge of current events and developments within the animal health industry. Knowledge and understanding of the marketplace. Effective time management skills.
