SUMMARY 

The Sr. Manager, Financial Systems is responsible for providing leadership to a team of IT Solution Consultants responsible for eliciting, validating, and managing business and stakeholder requirements, seeking viable solutions to business problems, and interacting regularly with business stakeholders. This position is responsible for resource planning, budgeting, and Financial IT project oversight. In addition, the Sr. Manager, Financial Systems collaborates with the Leadership of the Financial Applications Support team to look at how the chosen solution can be used to meet business requirements and with the Solution Support Technical Leadership where customizations to existing financial systems or for net new development is required.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  •  Provides direction and support to direct reports for the execution of IT projects, managerial coordination of issue resolution, business process, and audit 
  • Research Oracle applications for enhanced functionality, system improvements, changes to existing applications, module additions for fit into the organization and possible implementation and make recommendations. 
  • Coordinates work within the team and with IT peers (Financial Applications Support Team and Solution Support Technical Team) 
  • Analyzes business needs collaborating with peers as required 
  • Implements process improvements within the team and within Finance Department Processes 
  • Maintains policy, documentation, and ensures alignment with Audit and BGIS InfoSec guidelines within the team 
  • Manages Financial Systems licensing and compliance thereof 
  • Participates in CAB (change advisory board) related to project deployment
  • Participates in Oracle conferences to bring leading innovation related to Oracle Financials Solutions to BGIS 
  • Participates in the sourcing and implementation of new business technology through collaboration with IT peers 
  • Finds functional solutions to business requirements 
  • Reports on project implementation 
  • Acts as an information source and communicator between business branches 
  • Liaises between the IT department and the Finance executive branch 
  • Liaises with 3rd party vendors for license price and purchase negotiation 
  • Review Quarterly changes for Cloud upgrades, identify business impact and coordinate with business owners for UAT 
  • Manages System Audit and coordinates with internal and external auditors to comply with SOX/clients audits

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • More than five years of relevant work experience in an IT management position
  • Advanced critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making are three crucial strengths
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud financial management system is a plus
  • Ability to coordinate project tasks and activities
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Very good comprehension of business processes and data flows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong experience with Oracle Fusion EBusiness application
  • High degree of customer service orientation

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

  • University graduate or professional certification (e.g. P. Eng, CMA, CGA or equivalent courses)
  • Degree in an I.T.- related field, or similar experience
