Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the General Ledger accounts are accurate, reconciled, and maintained, including preparation of monthly working papers.
  • Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements and reporting packages.
  • Support the Controller in day-to-day financial operations.
  • Prepare GST, PST, and WCB reports ensuring filings are accurate and timely.
  • Update and maintain continuity schedules (prepaids, deposits, capital assets, etc.).
  • Assist Controller with cost, variance and profit/loss analysis of projects.
  • Utilization of various accounting software; Jobutrax, Sage 50, OpenInvoice, etc.
  • Conduct bi-weekly payroll, including reporting of statutory obligations as required.
  • Review, process, and track fuel card usage and analytics.
  • Ensure internal controls and audit trials are compliant with internal and external requirements.
  • Mentor the accounting team members promoting a cohesive and efficient work environment.
  • Oversight of office enquiries and management.
  • Prepare and present ad hoc reports to the Controller.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Payroll management expertise.
  • Proficiency in Sage 50, Pandell Jobutrax, Enverus, and Microsoft 365.
  • Special consideration will be given to candidates with a CPA designation or Bachelor's degree.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Aptitude in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Awareness of and ability to demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity.
