We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for our Senior Human Resources Advisor role. As a Senior Human Resources Advisor the focus of this role will be large-scale organizational projects and initiatives, including the creation, review, revision, and implementation of Alberta Precision Laboratories’ Human Resources policies, procedures, and processes as well as act as a mentor and coach for HR Advisors and Analysts as they support clients. You will work with a high degree of independence and in collaboration with HR specialists and service centres.
Description:
The Senior Advisor, Human Resources Business Partnerships (HRBP) is accountable for the delivery, integration and evaluation of human resources processes, frameworks, solutions and services, ensuring they align with, and support, AHS provincial approaches, organizational priorities and direction. The focus of the role will be large-scale organizational projects and initiatives, including the creation, review, revision, and implementation of APL Human Resources policies, procedures, and processes. Our People Strategy; while supporting a values based approach for people decision-making, and supporting the achievement of identified goals and objectives related to our people and contributing to the achievement of the AHS & APL vision.This role will be pivotal to the development and refining of APL Human Resources’ policies, procedures, and processes to align with AHS where appropriate.
Required Qualifications:5 years working within an HR generalist role within a complex environment.Demonstrated critical thinking skills, with ability to apply a broad lens on issues that impact beyond portfolio (Program area, internal and external stakeholders and government. Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive situations with confidentiality, tact, diplomacy and decisive insight.

Influence and credibility, with ability to navigate complex situations with appropriate outcomes.Effective navigation of politically sensitive environments.Coaching and mentoring, both for team members and client groups.Relationship building with all partners and at all levels in the organization, with the ability to build credibility and inspire confidence in the work of HRBP with clients.Critical thinking and decision-making, with ability to meet deadlines.Results-oriented, with ability to identify and deliver unique solutions.Collaboration and Communication (written and oral), with ability to produce high quality reports.Ability to lead and manage change.Resilience and flexibility in a complex, rapidly changing environment.Ability to work independently. This job requires some travel within area of accountability, or Alberta more broadly. Depending on the location of the role and the client group served, the individual may require a Drivers Licence and the use of their personal vehicle for AHS business.
Preferred Qualifications:
Healthcare or other public sector experience.Experience working within a unionized environment and/or an organization with multiple legislative requirements.Project management experience working with complex initiatives.Experienced in coaching and mentoring.
