DMS iTech is an IT consulting company, with a core focus on providing customers a complete turn-key solution and support services in Microsoft Dynamics Nav (Navision). Reporting to the Vice President, your key responsibilities will include:

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Implementation and support LAN/WAN connected devices i.e. Servers, PC’s/Laptops, printers, switches and routers in a TCP/IP environment
  • Design, deploy, monitor and maintain both physical and virtual Windows and Linux servers as well as server hardware including storage and networking based appliances
  • Design, deploy, monitor and maintain infrastructure monitoring systems, server backup environments and server patching levels through centralized systems
  • Design, deploy, monitor and maintain business continuity (disaster recovery) infrastructure
  • Advise the Manager, IT on industry best practices and mentor other IT staff in their implementation
  • IT infrastructure architecture, implementation and supporting projects and services
  • Communicating with customers and colleagues, translating complex technical concepts into clear, understandable language
  • Advising and training end users and staff
  • Operating master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks and to co-ordinate use of a network
  • Performing routine network startup and shut down procedures and maintaining control records as well as daily data backups and disaster recovery operations (on-site and off-site)
  • Architecting, configuring, installing and/or implementing upgrades to computer hardware, peripherals and software and providing IT environment problem diagnosis, troubleshooting and support
  • Maintaining, troubleshooting and administering networks, computer workstations and related peripheral equipment
  • Consulting user guides, technical manuals and other technical resources to research and implement industry standard solutions
  • Supporting professional documentation standards by collecting, organizing and maintaining a log to record all problems and solutions for use by other Information Systems department staff
  • Leading the redesign of applications and other software and hardware environments
Education:
  • A diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in the faculty of Computer Sciences/Systems Technology or related fields, or relevant experience
  • Must have advanced technical knowledge of various hardware and software and related IT infrastructure environments
  • Must be well versed in Microsoft Office suite
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of directly related IT industry experience
Skills:
  • Superb interpersonal and communication and interpersonal skills to listen, write and speak in a clear and concise manner to individuals at various levels
  • Effective interviewing skills to probe customers about their needs or concerns
  • Excellent technical writing skills for technical documentation
  • Exceptional organizational skills to plan out and coordinate his or her work in a logical manner
  • Demonstrated management skills to work independently and productively complete work and meet conflicting demands and all expected deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose the problem(s) and find acceptable solution(s) within a reasonable timeframe
Job Type:

This position is full-time, permanent, Monday- Friday, 40 hours a week. Although the position offers the ability to work remotely, we are seeking a candidate in the Edmonton area as travel to client sites and our West Edmonton office will be required. Salary commensurate with skills and experience.
