Job Description – Partner, OH&S

Our client has an immediate opening for an OH&S Partner to join its successful team in Edmonton. The successful candidate will assist in Occupational Health & Safety matters relating to all aspects of the investigation and defense of charges under the relevant legislation. You will also be part of the Labour & Employment practice group where it assists public and private employers with a variety of matters.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  1. Provide advice on occupational health and safety law, Workers Compensation Board issues, health law and the defence of claims against physicians and insurers.
  2. Be part of the Labour & Employment practice group to help manage the practice for clients across a broad range of industries.
  3. Expand and support business/client development opportunities.
  4. Provide mentorship and support to the office’s growing Labour & Employment Group.
Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge
  • LL.B. or J.D. degree (or equivalent).
  • Good standing with a Canadian Law Society.
  • 8+ years of assisting public and private employers with a wide variety of labour and employment matters.
  • Strong commercial acumen, outstanding client care skills, and excellent practice management skills.
  • A full or partial portable practice is preferred.
