About the Role

The Production Turnaround (TA) Coordinator reports to the Production Turnaround Lead within the Production Support department of the LNGC Asset team.

This role enhances efficiency of production and operational activities related to turnarounds, safe shutdown, handover to turnaround, acceptance for operations and startup through methodological, instrumental, and organizational activities. Identify areas of concern and evaluate options to increase equipment reliability and operational readiness post repair.

You will use your expertise to:

During EXECUTE and OPERATE phases of the project (pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up, ramp up and steady state operations):

  • Undergo necessary training and HSE certification in line with the requirements of British Columbia Industrial Safety Regulation and Shell standard.
  • Participate in personal training of staff at workplaces for implementation systems tools for continuous improvement of the operation readiness of the plant.
  • Develop all isolation plans required for the shutdown scope of work.
  • Participate in preparation of the Permit to Work master list required for all planned and unplanned shutdowns.
  • Ensure Operational Readiness of facilities for Shutdown, decontamination, commissioning, startup, and reliable operation.
  • Supervise maintenance activities during the execution phase and the final reinstatement of the working area prior to production start-up.
  • Ensure compliance with British Columbia requirements in terms of environmental protection and industrial safety.
  • Liaise with relevant disciplines and departments of LNGC during planning and preparation for all planned and unplanned Turnarounds and Shutdowns.
  • Supervise and train a team of technicians in preparing the safe shutdown of the equipment and LNG trains for turnaround scope of work, commissioning in line with the appropriate procedures and industrial safety rules.
  • Coordinate and ensure the establishment of the operations working group consisting of disciplines supervisors and technicians for corrective or preventive maintenance.
  • Assist in preparation of equipment draining, locking out, tagging out, purging, steaming (if applicable), flushing during corrective preventive maintenance and in putting it back to operation after repairs and commissioning.
  • Develop cost-saving proposals.
  • Draft and develop internal working procedures and job aids.
  • Determine material requirements for operations to support shutdown activities.
  • Participate in the HSE committee and integrity-related turnaround meetings.
  • During TA and campaign maintenance execution, support production leadership team in assurance of: Shutdown, decontamination, isolation, safe work permitting, execution, commissioning, startup etc.
  • Support with operations input into the schedule to ensure integrated activities are fully aligned and executed with consideration for SIMOPS and Permit to Work (PtW).
  • Assure quality on unit Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR’s).
  • Responsible for the development of the TA Safety Activity Plan.
  • Compile Operations TA close out report and extract lessons learned to promote continuous improvement.
  • Support process-utility management strategy.
  • Support the unit Production Specialists in scope identification for turnarounds.
  • Participate in TA reviews and scope optimization.
  • Support ops TA scheduling and budgeting.
  • Support the TA event manager and TA steering team.
  • Support the development of the TA premise documents.
  • Drive best in class performance by embracing a learner mindset to become digitally enabled technician of the future leveraging technology and data.
  • Establish connectivity and bridge between different teams to articulate opportunities, support delivery of solutions and be the champion of change among business users.
  • Leverage technologies such as artificial intelligence, automation, robotics, data analytics to support development solutions provide insights into easy-to-understand, actionable recommendations.
  • Understand the opportunities and complexity of the digital world, applying concepts of data analytics, automation, IoT and artificial intelligence.
  • Work through complex interfaces across organizational and geographic boundaries.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Post Secondary education related to Plant Process Operations preferably in a hydrocarbon facility.
  • 7-10 years experience managing turnarounds, preferably in a hydrocarbon facility.
  • Proven safety leadership skills, good understanding of HSSE requirements, track record in managing personal and process safety.
  • Demonstrated experience in roles that developed progressive leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Turnarounds.
  • Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning experience is a definite asset.
  • Strong computer skills - PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Primavera, Visio, SAP – Knowledge.
  • Demonstrated skills in Primavera, work planning.
  • Ability to support and sustain changes.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Strong networking and business relationship building skills is strongly desired.
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset.
  • Works effectively in a Team environment that builds trust and engagement.

This role requires that you:

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit).
  • Live in the District of Stikine (Kitimat/Terrace). For applicants located outside of the region, you are encouraged to explore what Kitimat has to offer in terms of lifestyle including schooling, local amenities, outdoor adventure, and housing.
  • Are willing to comply with LNGC’s drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Undergo a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
  • May go on CSU / Turnaround schedule at 50 hours per week, as assigned by manager.
  • During Turnaround may work extended hours on shift.
  • Will need to work shifts and additional hours during Turnaround to support execution.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Know this is not a Fly in - Fly out role.
