We are seeking an Interim Director of Finance to join our team on a contract basis in Toronto, Ontario. As the Interim Director of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing various finance functions, including AR/AP/payroll, full cycle accounting, financial reporting, audit and controls, process and strategy, and systems implementations. The Opportunity:

The Interim Director of Finance will play an integral role in the success of our finance team. You will have the opportunity to support the team with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions, while also spearheading important projects such as process automation and ERP implementation. This role also includes responsibilities in full cycle accounting, financial reporting, and audit preparation. Join us to make a meaningful contribution to our company's growth and success.

Success Criteria & Deliverables:

At 3 Months:

- Successfully transition from the current Director of Finance going on maternity leave

- Lead monthly close and reporting processes

- Assist with ongoing projects led by the VP

What We Need From You:

- Experience with Sage 50cloud systems

- Strong understanding of private equity ownership structures

- Proficiency in AR/AP/payroll with accounts receivable experience

- Full cycle accounting experience, including new/improved month-end, journal entries, and reconciliations

- Financial reporting experience, particularly with private equity reporting

- Knowledge of audit and control procedures with experience in external audit preparation

- Experience in process and strategy development with a focus on automation

- Background in systems implementation, specifically with ERP systems such as Netsuite

- 10+ years of overall finance experience

- Proficiency in payroll processes

- Experience with journal entries and accruals, as well as financial reporting standards such as ASPE

- CPA (Canada) designation is preferred

- Familiarity with Canadian operating processes and regulations

- Experience with accounts payable and consolidations processes

- Intermediate skills in Excel, including the use of formulas and pivot tables

- Experience in a revenue range of 50-100M

- Previous experience in a scale-up or growth stage environment

- Industry experience in hospitality and leisure is preferred
