**Interim Finance Manager (4-6 month contract)**
Founded in 2014, Kindred is a robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) company that develops robots to solve real-world problems. Kindred’s cutting-edge technology is the foundation of a number of proprietary platforms, including CORE with AutoGrasp, developed to operate robots autonomously in dynamic environments. Its team of scientists, engineers and business operators have set a new standard for reinforcement learning for robots. The company is co-located in San Francisco and Toronto and is part of the UK-based Ocado Group plc.
**Summary of role and responsibilities**:
- As the interim Finance Manager, you will lead Kindred's day-to-day activities (general/operational), including payables and month-end close.
- Coordinate and review third-party service providers' deliverables.
- Review and approve journal entries, payroll, fixed assets, accruals and inter-company.
- Review and approve all balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements providing accurate analysis of the organization’s results.
- Perform/review routine accounting transactions including AP, AR, GL, and payroll.
- Assist in tax preparation
- Assist with additional projects as requested
**Required skills, education and experience**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 6+ years of accounting experience
- CPA license preferred
- Excellent excel skills
- Hands-on experience in a similar size company; “can-do” the mechanics of the function
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and resolve challenges
- An entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in a demanding, fast-paced, cross-functional work environment with changing priorities and deadlines
- Strong analytic, organizational skills, attention to detail
- Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to collaborate with peers, members of management and cross functional team
