The Land Acquisitions Analyst, High Rise will assist in the evaluation and acquisition of our real estate investment opportunities with a focus on high rise and mid rise residential and mixed-use development opportunities. Reporting to the Manager, High Rise Acquisitions, you will assist the Empire Land Development team in creating and modifying complex financial proforma models for high rise development projects, performing market research and verifying development and financial assumptions.

This role is located at our Empire Canada Head Office in Vaughan, ON.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 1+ years experience in high rise real estate development, investment banking, or finance
  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Real Estate, Engineering or Planning
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience in real estate underwriting, valuation, and modelling
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modelling

Bonus If You Have These Skills:

  • Experience working with consultants during the due diligence process to identify issues and challenges related to development sites to determine potential financial impacts
  • Ability to conceptualize complicated deal structures and presentation skills

What You’ll Be Doing Each Day

  • Conduct research and assessments to understand the risks associated with the acquisition of potential land development while making recommendations to the team by gathering, evaluating and tracking industry information
  • Coordination with internal and external stakeholders to support the underwriting of real estate investment opportunities
  • Perform advanced financial proforma modelling to help inform investment decisions
  • Preparation of deal summary packages and management reports that will advise our executives of project specific acquisitions, including investment committee memos
  • Provide support and coordination with due diligence and other tasks including the review and analysis of legal agreements and other development documents as it relates to potential high rise development acquisitions and investments required in the acquisitions processes
