Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end commercialization of new product innovations and initiatives (working with internal teams and co-manufacturers) across new platform development, LTO promotion, quality and cost improvements.
  • Lead development, testing, evaluation of the new ingredients.
  • Create ingredient product specifications in the internal system.
  • Conduct external consumer sensory research and provide recommendations to the leadership.
  • Work with multiple cross-functional teams to transition projects from start to launch by meeting key timelines.
  • Attend plant trials and support product launches.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality, compliance with Canadian regulations and specifications.
  • Attend existing and new ingredient evaluations at test laboratory to ensure all ingredient parameters meet specifications.
  • Work closely with the Procurement team to ensure ingredient pricing meets set targets.
  • Manage and lead a team of two.

Requirements

  • + 5 years of experience in Product Development, Food Science BSc or MSc.
  • Product Development experience working in food production/manufacturing – ideally with QSR experience.
  • Sensory evaluation skills.
  • Passion for food and innovation.
  • Results-driven, self-motivated individual passionate about championing new ideas and improving current processes.
  • Good knowledge of plant processes, equipment, ingredient functionality and food regulations.
  • Ability to build strong collaborative working relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
