The Crump Group Inc. is a family-owned and operated premium pet treat manufacturer. Started in 2006, we have successfully established 3 market leading brands (Caledon Farms, Crumps Naturals AND Dog Delights) distributed throughout Canada and the United States. The Crump Group Inc., a large & rapidly growing pet treat manufacturer based in Mississauga, Ontario and Nashville, North Carolina is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Senior Sales Analyst.
Job Overview
The Sales Analyst is accountable for the achievement of account-specific goals including volume and trade objectives, forecast accuracy, promotional execution, distribution targets, new item speed to shelf. The Sales Analyst position is responsible to deliver innovative, fact-based solutions for their retail customers and the broker network. This position is responsible for supporting customer implementation, analyzing customer sales and providing recommendations, managing key private label & strategic branded customers. This Sales Analyst role will be directly supporting the Vice President, International Sales and Costco in day-to-day tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to navigate customer portals and prepare all documents necessary to run an effective and efficient business.
- Ability to understand and interpret IRI Costco data.
- Maintain store lists and any other retailer specific details.
- Provide category review support by assisting with new item paperwork (spec sheet, presentations etc.) and category review announcements.
- Manage strategic customers which includes analyzing sales data, selling in new products and recommending advertising strategy.
- Achievement of sales objectives and specific volume/net sales goals through execution of account plans and brand strategies.
- Focus on achievement of optimal AMPS (assortment, merchandising, price, promotion and shelving) by account.
- Manage trade funds to support marketing and promotional plans, determining pricing and distribution and negotiating with key accounts in a direct and in-direct sales environment.
- Responsible for forecasting promotional activity and new listings through associated tools.
- Develop and deliver customer plans to achieve objectives within budget, and short & long-term solutions through best practice thought leadership.
- Collaborate with other internal departments, including R&D, to align with brand and category objectives and develop go-to-market retail strategy to deliver execution excellence.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Demand Planning, Finance to manage deductions and supply chain both to deliver goods in timely and efficient manner with on time and in full payment.
- Help to support annual marketing/business plans to customers and execute plans.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills Required:
- Flexible can-do attitude that will wear multiple hats to support overall growth of the company.
- Ability to lay out practical and logical assortment plans based on retail space, inventory turn, and sell through.
- Ability to tell a holistic story verse taking a transactional approach.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence outcomes with both internal and external contacts.
- Results oriented.
- The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, adaptable, and nimble.
- Great attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to navigate customer portals and to understand and interpret IRI Costco data is a huge asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft office, including PowerPoint and Excel, required.
- A team-player with a winning attitude. One who share best practices and is open to learn from other team members.
- A thought leader who leverages data and resources with account and peers.
- Creative and persistent in managing accounts through innovative sales programs and overcoming obstacles.
- Sales experience is an asset.
- Goal-oriented: Take initiative to build rapport, establish account-specific plans, and achieve/exceed sales goals.
- A strong communicator: Both verbally to build retailer relationships, and in writing to accomplish follow-up. Strong listening skills and adaptability to adjust style and message based on customer cues.
Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary diploma, degree, or equivalent.
- 2 years relevant experience within CPG with some interaction at a Customer Headquarter Level.
- Understanding of CPG industry sector and competitive landscape preferred.
- Ability to apply financial data to make decisions and influence outcomes. This includes margins, retail math, forecast/projections, velocities, and other analytical skills not mentioned.
- International sales experience an asset.
- Hardworking.
- Willing to learn and move up through the company.
- Analytical (good with Microsoft Office & sales portals (Neilson, Vendor Central, Retail Link).
- CPG experience would be great either in sales or supply chain.
- Experience building and presenting customer presentation.
