iGaming Ontario leads the Province of Ontario’s new, dynamic, internet gaming (igaming) market that, in its second year generated $63 billion in total wagers, a 78% increase over its first year. This resulted in $2.4 billion in total gaming revenue from over 45 gaming operators and over 1.6 million active player accounts. Even more, in its second year Ontario’s igaming market sustained almost 15,000 full-time equivalent jobs across the province. To achieve these results, iGaming Ontario is guided by its vision to Lead the World’s Best Gaming Market.

iGaming Ontario is seeking an HR Specialist to join its dynamic team. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, you will provide professional and client-centric human resource support to iGaming Ontario management and staff.

As a contract employee at iGaming Ontario, you are offered a wellbeing account to support your mental, physical, and social wellbeing that covers varying expenses from gym memberships or art classes to ski lessons. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  1. Managing the employee engagement survey while analyzing data to provide sound advice to leaders on key actions required to increase engagement.
  2. Analyzing workforce data and analytics via MS Excel to formulate insights and recommendations while implementing solutions.
  3. Facilitating iGaming Ontario’s performance management program as the primary resource through the full lifecycle while guiding leaders on effective performance management practices, including development planning, goal setting, quarterly check-ins, and feedback conversations.
  4. Coordinating Health & Safety Committee training and related activities, ensuring the seamless completion of agenda action items and distribution of documentation as required.
  5. Coordinating accommodations and disability claims, including monitoring and communicating claim updates between employee, manager, payroll and external claim management provider while drafting return-to-work plans as required.
  6. Building and executing human resources policies to support the organization.
  7. Facilitating and administering learning and development programs while creating a calendar of programs to advance iGaming Ontario’s business objectives, including employee engagement.
  8. Administering the LMS and updating the system with new training and requirements as needed.

The ideal candidate will have:
  1. Post-Secondary education in business administration, human resources or other related degree, or a combination of education/experience.
  2. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a HR Generalist, Specialist or Advisor preferably in a unionized environment.
  3. A strong understanding of human resources functions including performance management, learning and development, disability management and HR analytics paired with knowledge of employment legislation and labour relations practices.
  4. Experience building and operationalizing services that are client-centric and support a small, dynamic organization.
  5. Experience using LMS and HRIS (Dayforce and Workday experience preferred), along with various Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Forms.
  6. Ability to take initiative, exercise good judgement and discretion while effectively supporting all levels of management and employees.
  7. Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills and strong ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and practices.
  8. Possession of or working towards a CHRP or CHRL designation.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and will be subject to a criminal background check.
