Are you interested in working at one of Canada’s leading law firms? Our client is looking for a Legal Assistant to join their Financial Services Department in their Calgary office.The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:Preparing agreements and other legal documents from written, oral or taped instructions and precedents.Entering dockets and preparing accounts.Applying proofreading and editing skills to documents and correspondence.Liaising with clients, lawyers and colleagues to obtain information and instructions.Assisting in management of lawyers’ practice, i.e., opening files, filing, arranging meetings, arranging travel and/or accommodations.Managing calendar and keeping lawyers apprised of ongoing and outstanding matters.Drafting routine correspondence on behalf of lawyers.The successful candidate must have the following education, experience and/or demonstrated skills:A Legal Assistant Diploma from a recognized collegeA minimum of 3 years of legal assistant experience in a similar environment.Commercial Real Estate Lending experience is an asset.Proficient in MS Office 365 with strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Strong administrative and organizational skills.Ability to work under pressure, be flexible and adapt to changing situations easily.Ability to juggle multiple priorities, meet deadlines and exhibit sound judgment.Solid problem solver with a take charge personality.Above average attention to detail skills.Exceptional communication skills.Must be able to work independently, as well as within a team environmentAbility to work with minimal supervision, as well as part of a collegial and outgoing team.If this sounds like the role for you, please send your resume in confidence to shona@urbanlegal.ca At Urban Legal Recruitment we guarantee discretion and confidentiality.
