ACCOUNTS PAYABLE COORDINATOR – JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description:

The accounts payable coordinator is primarily responsible for maintaining the regular accounting duties for payables within an organization. The main responsibilities include acquiring and processing invoices, assisting in the reconciliation of accounts, and paying vendors. This position reports to the CFO.

Main Responsibilities:

·      Receive and process invoices.

·      Review invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment.

·      Accurately code invoices to their respective cost center and related lot number where required (general ledger data entry).

·      Execute credit card and bank account reconciliation.

·      Authorize and schedule payments to vendors.

·      Obtain signatures on all cheques.

·      Assist Chief Financial Officer as required.

·      Maintain accurate records of transactions.

Education and Experience:

·      Successful completion of a post secondary education.

·      Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping.

·      Strong working knowledge of related computer applications, specifically Microsoft Excel.

·      Experience using an ERP software.

·      3 years of relevant experience within cost accounting and reporting.

·      Attention to detail and accuracy.

·      Planning and organized, ability to multi-task.

·      Strong communication skills.

·      Stress tolerance.
